Acupuncture has been used for centuries to treat sex problems and disorders. It has been used to strengthen and promote optimal sexual health for centuries. It can be used for numerous sexual health conditions for both men and women. Acupuncture can help:

Diminished Libido

Premature Ejaculation

Low Sperm Count

Vaginal Dryness

Infertility

Menopause

Impotence

Penis hypoplasis

Diminished Sperm Motility

Male Climacteric

Acupuncture can be of greatest help when sexual issues are caused by physiological problems. When sexual problems are due to stress and stress related disorders, acupuncture alone can offer significant help. In other cases, where sexual problems are caused by biological pathologies acupuncture must be used in conjunction with traditional Chinese herbal medicine to effect improvement. Once the cause of the problem is discovered, specific points are stimulated to alter various biochemical and physiological conditions in order to strengthen both the mind and body to bring you back to prime sexual health.

Acupuncture is based on the theory that there are 14 main energy pathways that run from head to toe along the body. A symptom or a disorder occurs when there is an imbalance in flow in these pathways. It involves placing very fine needles in various parts of the body to relieve pain or stress. The insertion of hair fine needles regulates the blood flow to the genitals which could increase sexual pleasure, ability to get and maintain an erection, and improve overall libido and stamina. By restoring the balance of Ying and Yang energy, acupuncture will revitalize sexual desire and potency. Although, acupuncture can also benefit a patient with an excessive sexual desire, that hinders a healthy lifestyle. In this case, by the power to tranquilize the spirit and redirect Blood and Qi, acupuncture can help the patient to obtain sexual harmony. Your acupuncturist will be able to work with your body to restore that healthy homeostatic balance.

Benefits of acupuncture

Low risk of adverse reaction or side effect

It works synergistically to treat the whole person

Improves and balances sexual hormones

Improves libido and sexual functions

Treats sexual disorders naturally

Pornography addiction is excessive use of pornography. It has its roots in the viewing and hoarding of magazine and video pornography. A large percentage of people who are addicted to porn in any of its forms tend to experience difficulties in personal relationships. Porn addicts tend to isolate themselves from friends, family and coworkers to continue the behaviors that fuel the addiction. Pornography, like other drugs, produces an immediate high. Sexual arousal releases powerful endorphins in the brain, and the release provided by pornography can help to temporarily alleviate stress, depression and anger. But this relief is short-lived and the more people use pornography, the shorter the relief lasts. This can create a vicious cycle requiring a person to use more and more pornography.

Five Stages of Addiction

Early exposure. Most girls and boys who get addicted to porn start early. They see the stuff when they are very young, and they get their foot in the door.

Addiction. Later it becomes addiction. It becomes a regular part of your life. You’re hooked. You can’t quit.

Escalation. After a while, escalation begins. You start to look for more and more graphic porn. You start using porn that would have disgusted you when you started. Now it excites you.

Desensitization. Eventually, you start to become numb. Even the most graphic, degrading porn doesn’t excite you anymore. You become desperate to feel the same thrill again but can’t find it.

Acting out sexually. At this point, many men make a dangerous jump and start acting out sexually. They move from the paper and plastic images of porn to the real world.

How to break the cycle

Some excellent options include:

Staying busy with friends and family

Scheduling other gratifying activities such as vacations or fun outings

Regular Exercise can produces the same endorphins as pornography and can help the post-porn crash feel less overwhelming.

Enlisting the assistance of a friend, family member or partner to maintain accountability

Treatment options

There are several excellent treatment options available for people struggling with both compulsive use of pornography and its aftereffects. These include therapy, medication, 12-step programs and sexual education. Many people find that they are simply unable to quit porn and the consequences of porn to their intimate lives, relationships and sexual performance are too high to manage on their own. So, don’t waste time suffering in silence. Seek help immediately.

Some are:

Counseling

Psychotherapy

Hypnotherapy

Constitutional homeopathy

Acupuncture, acupressure and reflexology

What is sexual aversion?

Aversion of sex is a condition where people try to avoid sexual activity. It is found to be more common among women than men. The aversion may take a number of different forms; it may be related to specific aspects of sexual intercourse, such as the sight of the partner’s genitals or the smell of his or her body secretions, but it may include kissing, hugging, and petting as well as intercourse itself. In some cases the person with sexual aversion disorder avoids any form of sexual contact; others, however, are not upset by kissing and caressing, and are able to proceed normally until genital contact occurs. The most common causes of sexual aversion are interpersonal problems and traumatic experiences. Traumatic experiences include rape, incest, molestation, or other forms of sexual abuse. Interpersonal problems include major disagreements over children, money, and family roles; domestic violence; lack of personal hygiene on the partner’s side; or similar problems.

There are four main sub-classifications of sexual aversion disorder.

Generalized – This is aversion to sex with any partner and in every situation.

Situational – This is aversion to sex with a specific partner or aversion to sex in a specific set of circumstances.

Acquired – This is an aversion to sex that happened after a traumatic experience.

Lifelong – This aversion is similar to generalized, but the biggest difference between the two is that the generalized sub-classification means the woman’s aversion has been present for only a certain amount of time. Lifelong aversion, as the name suggests, means that the woman has always had a significantly negative reaction to sex.

What is sexual aversion caused by?

Causes include:

Lack of interest in sex

Dislike or disgust of sexual organs

Negative views told by others

Bad previous experience

Bad relationship with sexual partner

Symptoms of sexual aversion

Dislike sexual activity even kissing and touching

Dislike or disgust of sexual organs

Quick or Rushing sex

Excuses or feign sickness like headache to avoid sex

Avoiding discussion on sex or expressing negative opinion

Treatment:

Treatment of sexual aversion requires address to feelings of fear and disgust, attitude of partner.

Treatment of underlying cause.

Relaxation

Sexual Fantasy

Better environment

Better communication and cooperation

Gradual progress

Counseling and Psychotherapy

Marriage Counseling, or CouplesCounseling

How many of us are taught discipline of sex and sexuality. No wonder the world of sex is total chaos. People look for satisfaction through quantity as quality is hard to come by. Not many people understand that without discipline it is not possible to have real satisfaction. The common errors people get into are:

– Spoiling relationship. Getting into sexual relationship in relationships where it will not be appropriate to do so. Includes at one extreme are incest and also included are other relationships like doctor patient relationship, teacher student relationship.
– Spoiling trust. Common example is adultery. One may also include having sex with friends boyfriend or girlfriend.
– Paid sex. Most common error. Paid sex can never give you satisfaction. In fact this will always lead to enhanced sexual frustration.
– Forced sex. Very common in society. It is not limited to actual rape. Use of any kind of force. In office boss may use subtle force to have sex with staff. Fear of losing job leads to sexual harassment.
– Sex as favor. Sometimes sex is used to buy favors. Students use to get good grades, staff use it to get hike, in business it is used to get clients or business deals.
– Group sex or multiple partners. Sex which is not based on mutual commitment and love will never give satisfaction. Some people think that we are only concerned with sex, not love. But this is shortsightedness. There will not be inner contentment. In the long run this leads to discontentment, frustration and addiction to sex just like drug addiction.
All this and more such where only motive is self gratification without any respect to norms and values leads to sexual indiscipline and ultimately sexual frustration.
Cross check your sexual behavior, does it satisfy criteria of
– Mutual consent
– Mutual commitment
– Mutual satisfaction
– Social norms and values
If yes than you have high Sexual Quotient. Congratulations ! If no then its time to be sexually responsible.

Teatment Holistic treatment – ETHOS HEALTH CARE

Holistic medicine and therapies means assessment and treatment of the complete person, physically, psychologically, socially and spiritually. The holistic approach of medicine or treatment looks beyond just sickness. It considers inter relation of different body function and the factors causing or affecting sickness like physical, psychological, emotional, environmental factors etc. It works to improve the ‘health’ in addition to curing sickness.

The same concept when applied to sexual problems and disorders works with huge success since sexual disorders arise due to involvement of many factors. They involve psycho-emotional, neurological, cardiovascular, endocrine along with environmental factors. For example impotence or erectile dysfunction can be due to single or combination of psychological, neurological, endocrine or blood circulation factor. When managed holistically, all these factors can be assessed and treated to create balance of good health and better sexual function.

Sexual disorders are disturbances in the sexual response which may be due physical or mental disturbances. Sexual disorders are disturbances in the sexual response like diminished sexual desire, impotence, male orgasmic dysfunction, female orgasmic dysfunction, and premature ejaculation. Lack of libido and inability to become aroused show good response to treatment with homeopathy especially since the cause is psychological in most cases. Another area where homeopathy can be of great help is dyspareunia or painful intercourse, erectile dysfunction in men.

Constitutional Homeopathy is the real homeopathy which assesses the complete details of mind and body. This is a single medicine therapy. Real Homeopathy is based on principal of Similar (the correct matching remedy) Singular (Single medicine) and Smallest (minimum dosage).

Homeopathic remedies are often useful for treating a variety of sexual problems. They are safe to use even if you are on other medications or have heath problems. Because they contain very small amounts of the active ingredients that it will not cause any problems. And yet, they are often very effective. Homoeopathic medicines act by increasing blood supply and exciting the nerves. It is also helpful in sexual disorders associated with psychological disturbances. The homoeopathic treatment gives a feeling of wellness and thus regains the vigor. Some of the homeopathic remedies and their uses are discussed below:

Agnus castus – If you feel a cold sensation in the genitals Agnus castus is indicated.

Argentum nitricum – This remedy is useful for men whose erection fails when sexual intercourse is attempted, particularly if thinking about the problem makes it worse.

Argentum Nitricum – Useful remedy in nervous and anxious men with Complete loss of libido or in whom erection fails when coition is attempted.

Asian ginseng – It will help increase libido and maintain an erection.

Catuba bark – It increases erectile function while working also as an aphrodisiac to promote overall sexual health.

Iodium – A useful remedy in men with loss of sexual power, with atrophied testes.

Plumbum Metallicum – Valuable remedy for men with loss of sexual and loss of sexual desire with progressive muscular atrophy.

Others like Selenium, Caladium, Acid Phos, Lycopodium, Nux Vomica, Nuphar, Phosphorus, Graphites, Onosmodium, Sulphur etc.

Homeopathy, being a mind-and-body medicine, treats the patients at the level of the body as well as the mind, which is primarily essential for sexual dysfunction cases. Do not try self medication as that not only fails but makes the case more difficult to treat. See a qualified doctor and regain your sex power.

Hypnotherapy is successfully used to help with a wide range of sexual issues such erection issues and lubrication, impotence and anorgasmia, premature ejaculation, fantasy and role playing, libido, and much more. All sexual problems and difficulties that are psychological or emotional in their causation can be resolved with Hypnotherapy or hypnosis.

Hypnotherapy helps with sexual problems by removing any mental pressure around intercourse and performance anxiety, so you begin to trust your body and feel relaxed before and during your sexual experience. Hypnotherapy managed to break through the blockage of the unconscious mind to eradicate a sexual problem.

Under hypnosis you can learn to relax ourselves very quickly. You can turn your negative feelings into more positive ones through positive autosuggestion which, while being in the deeply relaxed state of hypnosis, can go deep into our subconscious. While being relaxed we can then learn to be in contact with our instinctive self, allowing the things we want to happen. We can then start to believe that things will happen as we want them to as what we believe will happen generally does and so we can start overcoming the sexual problem.

Benefits of hypnotherapy

Enables open and honest communication

Improves body image

Acceptance of any past events

Remove negative emotions e.g guilt, fear, performance anxiety, pressure

Isolate root cause Improving balance of relationship

Shifts patterns of past behaviour

Improve self belief, self confidence and self esteem

Improves libido and sexual confidence

Treats erectile dysfunction, premature ejaculation, vaginismus, loss of libido etc.

Sexual problems and issues by their very nature often have their root causes within our subconscious mind. Hypnotherapy is a unique therapy that uses the subconscious part of our mind to find the root cause of the problem, resulting in a lasting and permanent release from the symptoms.

Treatment Love Lust – ETHOS HEALTH CARE

Most people confuse lust with love; the difference is that while lust is self-serving love is unlimited and unselfish. A few ways to tell if it is lust or love is to consider what you thoughts go through your mind once you see your significant other.

LUST

Lust is the sexual feeling we find arising within ourselves when we meet a person who triggers our sexual responses. Our sexual responses were imprinted into us at an early age probably before age 20 and perhaps most importantly during adolescence.

Signs of Lust

You’re totally focused on a person’s looks and body.

You don’t care about anything she has to say

You’re interested in having sex, but not in having conversations.

You’d rather keep the relationship on a fantasy level, not discuss real feelings.

You want to leave soon after sex rather than cuddling or breakfast the next morning.

You are lovers, but not friends.

Avoiding the topic of relationship

LOVE

One of the most common alternatives to lust is love. It is the sacrificial placing of someone else ahead of your own needs, wants, and desires. When you can lay down your life, so to speak, for someone else, you’ll understand love.

Signs of love

You want to spend quality time together other than sex.

You get lost in conversations and forget about the hours passing.

You want to honestly listen to each other’s feelings, make each other happy.

He or she motivates you to be a better person.

Whether you’re going out with your male friends or taking your dog for a walk, you want her there with you.

You want to get to meet his or her family and friends.

You experience the strange feeling that your life would be totally empty without her.

The choice

Both have their own place. It is for you to make a choice. Sex based on love satisfies and gives contentment whereas lust alone will create further desire for lust and will never get satisfied which in long run will create frustration, disappointment and an unsatisfied life. Choice is yours!!

Being safe with sex means caring for both your own health and the health of your partner. The practice of safe sex involves protecting yourself and your partner from sexually...

Being safe with sex means caring for both your own health and the health of your partner. The practice of safe sex involves protecting yourself and your partner from sexually transmitted diseases (STDs) or infections (STIs) and also pregnancy, if undesired. Some common STDs include syphilis, gonorrhoea, chlamydia, genital herpes, genital warts, hepatitis B, hepatitis C and HIV (that causes AIDS).

How can you stay safe?

Always be protected by using a lubricated, latex condom to reduce the risk of infection.

Always use condoms if you have vaginal or anal sex.

Use of condoms is the only method of contraception that protects against both STIs and pregnancy. Even if you’re using other methods of contraception (like the pill or a diaphragm), always use condoms as well.

Be sure that lubricants are water based. Do not use Vaseline, hand lotion, mineral oil or anything without a petroleum base because these will damage the condom

If you are having unprotected sex, talk to your partner about the risks involved. Remember your decision about safe sex is important, as some STIs can be cured but some can’t, including HIV (Human Immunodeficiency Virus).

Do not have sexual intercourse without a condom and do not touch the vagina during a woman’s menstrual period. Blood can contain large amount of HIV.

Never have sex (even with a condom) if your partner has a visible sore, ulcer or lump on their genitals or anal area. Suggest they see their doctor, family planning clinic or sexual health clinic.

STIs can be passed from one person to another by oral sex. If you put your month in contact with your partner’s penis, you need to use a condom to avoid STIs. If you put your mouth in contact with your partner’s anus or vulva (outside of vagina) while having sex, you need to use a dental dam (whether you are a guy or girl). This is especially important if you’ve got a cut or sore around your mouth or lips or bleeding gums.

STIs can also be transmitted if you use sex toys, so you need to be safe. Use condoms and change the condom for each person. Wash the toys carefully after use and wash your hands after removing the condom.

In this section you can learn about the role mind plays in love, sex and sexuality. You will come to know how and why sex is more a mind game and less a body game.

The Limbic System – Sex occurs in body or brain. It’s both. But in two the brain plays a very big role. Thoughts, feelings, sensations and especially orgasm it is all master controlled by brain. Now think how and why feeling of sex gets activated. Sex is pleasure and this is why people want more of it. It is the limbic system in brain which causes this by avoiding pain and repeating the pleasurable. It is this limbic system which results in emotions and desires including love and lust.

The Neurochemicals – The neurochemical love and lust is dopamine. Dopamine is the neurochemical that activates demand of pleasure as reward of sexual activity. It is the same which gets activated when you engage in activities that are required for survival and continuation like sex, eating food, drinking water. The more it is released, more is pleasure and more is craving. Another neurochemical called Opioid are the endorphins that help in experiencing the real pleasure. It is said that watching porn increases dopamine and therefore causes craving or more and more. The excess or deficiency of it causes disorders of libido. Even a small change in dopamine level can cause change in mood, behavior and how we ‘see’ world.

Low Dopamine

No pleasure, lack of impulse or desire, low interest in partner, inability to create bond, erectile dysfunction, sexual anxiety.

High Dopamine

High sexual desire, sexual addiction, high risk sexual behavior, sexual mania.

Normal Dopamine

Normal sexual desire, healthy bonding, healthy sexual activities, sexual satisfaction.

The Cycle

Once satisfied it takes some time for it to rise again. It varies person to person. It can also be influenced by novelty of stimulus. That may be reason behind the boredom in sex and flare up in sexual desire by new sexual ideas or new partner. To maintain sexual happiness with one partner there must be some additional reward to keep the dopamine charging. This further explains why keeping yourself just a little less satisfied sexually in a relationship can keep the interest alive by keeping the cycle in equilibrium.

There is another neurochemical called Oxytocin that creates the bond of relationship. Also called the “cuddle hormone” or “bonding hormone”it gives the typical lovy gushy heartwarming feeling. It is also responsible for other bonds like parent child, friendship etc. When both oxytocin and dopamine combine, the result can be friendship turning into a sexual relationship.

The ultimate truth of love and sex

Keeping Love high and coupled with low sexual satiety results in neurochemical level balance. This is probably the secret behind successful marriages and the sacred sexuality advocated by sages. In case of dopamine you need more and more of its release to get the same kick as the receptors become less reactive but in case of oxytocin the receptors increase in reaction with dose. And this is the ultimate secret. You get bored of sex but love increases with time.

The love neurochemical oxytocin can :

Reduces cravings

It calms mind.

Increases longevity and survival

Reduces depression and anxiety

Improves sexual satisfaction

So if you want to avoid sexual frustration or addiction and have complete sexual satisfaction then GIVE LOVE A CHANCE.

Sexual fitness refers to a state of readiness to enter into satisfactory sexual relationship. It may vary culture to culture and age to age. The significance of sexual fitness in today’s world can not be exaggerated. Many marriages and relationships break down only because of this factor. It can also affect person’s self esteem and in turn affect other aspects of life.

Factors of sexual fitness

General physical fitness

State of general physical health can affect sexual fitness. Factors like body strength, stamina and flexibility makes the foundation of good sexual capacity. Presence or absence of diseases like diabetes, asthma, hypertension etc influences the sexual fitness.

Psychological fitness

Is the person mentally ready? Self awareness, self esteem, attitude towards life, stress level, socialization ability all can affect readiness for satisfactory sexual relationship.

State of sexual organs

Development of sexual organs is must for being sexually ready. Abnormality in this can seriously affect sexual fitness. In addition development of secondary sexual characteristics can also influence how a person perceives his or her sexual fitness.

State of sexual hormones and sexual physiology

A normal level of sexual hormones like testosterone, prolactin, estrogen is required for good sexual functioning. The physiological functioning of sexual system right from brain to sexual organs must be in order. The sex centre in brain, nerves in spinal cord, the blood and nerve supply to sex organs all play crucial role

Sexual knowledge and skills

Sound sexual knowledge and skills are necessary for good sexual fitness. Many sexual problems are due to insufficient or wrong knowledge, myths, sexual fears, poor sexual skills and techniques. It is like driving a car without knowing how to drive.

Skills of relationship and intimacy

Good sex is both physical and psychological process between two human beings. Ability to make a good relationship provides the platform on which the game of sex is nicely played. Intimacy is the spark that ignites the fire of sex. Those who are good in this can claim to know how to make good sex.

How to develop sexual fitness

Following can help in developing the ‘art and science’ of good sex and sexual fitness

Physical fitness – Develop good lifestyle, eat nourishing food, exercise regularly. Undergo regular medical checkup and get treated if found to have any sickness.

Psychological fitness – Destress yourself, learn time management, improve on self esteem. Learn about intimacy and relationship skills.

Sex counseling and sex therapy – This can help you in learning about sexual skills, being sexually informed, remove sexual myths and fears.

Sexual checkup – This involves clinical examination and investigations to check hormonal status and functioning of sexual system.

Psychotherapy and Hypnotherapy – Certain deep psychological issues can be rectified by psychotherapy and hypnotherapy. These can also enhance sexual performance.

Holistic treatment – Treatment like acupuncture, yoga and homeopathy can help in overcoming both physical and psychological sexual issues naturally and help in attaining high sexual fitness.

Sexual satisfaction is not just physical pleasure, nor is it simply the absence of dissatisfaction or problems. Rather, sexual satisfaction involves the overall feeling we are left with after considering the positive and negative aspects of our sexual relationships. But negative attitudes about bodies, genitals and sexuality can get in the way of sexual satisfaction.

Sexual frustration

Sexual frustration can also happen when there is a disparity between the sexual needs of both partners. For instance, one sexual partner may think that their sexual life is adequate, while the other may think that their sexual life is lacking.

Side effects of sexual frustration are:

Depression

Hypermania

Stress

Mood swings

Low self esteem

Weight gain

Short attention span

Discords in relationship

Poor work performance

Poor social performance

If you are sexually frustrated, there may be a solution within reach. Do not settle. Sexual enjoyment and fulfillment is your right and your responsibility.

Ways to get Sexual Satisfaction

Communication: Talk about What You Want

Sharing wants, needs and most torrid sexual desires can be intimidating. Talking about what you’d like to do and have done to you can help to increase your sexual satisfaction.

Foreplay

Foreplay is integral part of sexual activity, which should never be kept away during the pursuit. Your attempts will help in arousal of your partner and chances of better sex are decent.

Sexual skills

You need to learn sexual skills. No one is born with these and no one can expect satisfaction without skills.

Be Adventurous: Take Sex out of the Bedroom

Try sex in the shower, in the back seat of your car, or against the kitchen counter. Go skinny dipping in a secluded spot outside. Sexual spontaneity and the excitement of sex in a new place can give you an adrenaline rush, intensifying the experience.

Look Sexy, Feel Sexy

A negative body image can distract you from having satisfying sexual experiences. Try practicing yoga, walking or swimming for 30 minutes every day to see positive effects on your body and on those negative thoughts.
