Ashtanga means eight limbs, Ashtanga Yoga gives eight progressive steps of Yog Sadhna. Every step is thoughtfully developed to improve one’s present state and prepare for next stage.</p>

But other individuals may use this information as an excuse to distance themselves from their dreams. ‘I have enough unpleasantness in my everyday waking life. Why would I want to expose myself to further unpleasant events and emotions in dreams?’ they may say.</p>
<p>I would respond that by paying attention to the troubling events in our dreams, we improve our long-range chances of reducing stress and anxiety in our waking life. Dreams tell us things we need to know to function more effectively when we’re not dreaming. They inform us about conditions which require remedial action and give us hints as to which plans might be most successful.</p>
<p>I want to tell you a story about a client of mine who stopped recurring nightmares after one hypnosis session – essentially taking charge of a condition that required remedial action, and how together we created a plan that led to a surprising and dynamic shift. Marion is an elderly woman who lives in an assisted care facility because she has MS. One of her caregivers called me to say she’d been waking up at night frightened by recurring dreams about an angel of death. Sometimes she cried out, alarming staff members. They tried to console her, but the nightmares continued.<br />
Marion was sitting in her wheelchair when I arrived. I pulled up a chair beside her, I explained how hypnosis works, prepared her for trance and began. Under hypnosis she described a woman who represented Death. She came down from the sky and looked like an angel in a dark robe. Recalling the figure, Marion became sad and teary eyed. “I’m not ready to die,” she said in a faint voice. “Good,” I responded. “Imagine, now, that you tell her that.” Resistance surfaced. “But I grew up believing that when Death comes to tell me it’s time, I must go.”</p>
<p>“If you still have something you want to do here on earth, I wonder if you can ask for more time. If you think that’s possible, please nod your head.” She nodded. Mistaken literalism is the biggest dream interpretation error, says Jeremy Taylor, author of Where People Fly and Water Runs Uphill and The Living Labyrinth. Marion’s strict religious upbringing led her to believe the dream figure announced her impending death. She took it literally, as most people would have done. But dream experts tell us that death symbols may indicate our readiness for a transformation – a letting go of an aspect of our personality that no longer serves us.</p>
<p>Marion and I prepared for a visualization in which she would meet the woman in the dark robe and ask for more time. She would explain why she wanted to continue living. I asked Marion to verbalize her reasons. We converted her initial plea of “I’m not ready to die” into statements beginning “I want to live because…” When she was ready, I took her deeper into trance and we began the visualization. Marion was motivated and cooperative. The figure from her dreams agreed to her request. We expressed appreciation for the agreement, I deepened the relaxation again and gave her the post-hypnotic suggestion that before our next session she would have a pleasant dream and she would remember it so she could share it with me.</p>
<p>That was all it took. The nightmares stopped. When I went to see Marion two weeks later, she looked cheerful. “The angel in the dark robe has not come back – and I had a good dream.” I’m going to share it with you here because it shows the power of the mind to make a course correction. I think important dreams deserve to have titles, so I asked her to title it. “The River,” she said. In her dream, Marion can walk. At four in the morning she opens the door and walks to a river. “I knew which path would take me there.” While walking on the path, she feels she is going to accomplish something and that it will be enjoyable. Though she lives in Seattle, the river is in Eastern Washington. She knows this because of the vast, open landscape and the rock formations. She’s wrapped in a blanket of many colors that reminds her of Joseph’s coat and Indian blankets.</p>
<p>She reaches the edge of a cliff and gazes at the river below, transfixed by its movement, “It’s not rushing, just flowing.” Across the river wild flowers and bushes are blooming in a rockery. I ask her if the scene reminds her of anything. She says, “It makes me think of the Mormon Tabernacle choir singing ‘How Beautiful Upon the Mountain’ because this is like a painting, entirely different than a real landscape. It is so beautiful that I’m awestruck.”<br />
At this point in the dream Marion worries that someone might realize she’s missing, so she walks out to a road. A car stops. Inside are two women who say they’ve been looking for her, so she gets in. When they arrive home, a man is waiting at the door for her. She feels safe and supported.</p>

<p>Dae-chu: When feeling directly below the seventh vertebrae, bend neck and head forward. There is an indentation wherein the neck and shoulder line meets, below the largest bone. Keeping that point stationary with your finger, return your neck and head back to an upright position. Tap over this healing acupressure point with a hand that is cupped.</p>
<p>It is important to remember that when practicing healing acupuncture as a method of holistic health in Eastern medicine, not to ever tap or press on: skin infections, scars, open wounds, varicose veins, broken bones etc. These methods are only to be used on healthy portions of the body, and should not cause intense pain when practicing.</p>

										<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Human beings are social. We cannot live in isolation. We need to have people around with whom we can connect, share emotions and feel that we belong to. This is true for everyone. We all want to feel wanted, loved and honored. We are also happy in giving the same to others. But then why do relationships go sour?  Relationships are said to be the first indicator of person&#8217;s happiness and quality of life. These can vary from close relationships like family and friends to colleagues, neighbors, business associates, acquaintances and even strangers.</p>
<p>Healthy relationships are good for mental health &amp; happiness. We want happiness and share this happiness with our loved ones. Then why do people feel so lonely today? Why do we get hurt or feel uncared by others? Why we are getting more and more isolated even after having many people around both in real and virtual life?</p>
<p>Situation is painful but fortunately easy to understand and rectify. To understand one must understand the spectrum of relationships, its interdependence and interactions. Relationships go sour because we let them go sour. Relationships can be kept healthy by proper management. There are many factors which play crucial role in keeping relationships healthy. These are :</p>
<p><strong>Priority</strong> : One must be clear about priorities in relationships giving due space, time and involvement to each relationship. Be sure about who is important and how much. But one must make sure that this should not be defined by selfishness. Priority should be in fair proportion done with honesty and giving due importance to sense of responsibility.</p>
<p><strong>Roles</strong> : One must clarify the role one is required to be play in relationship. Whatever your role is be it parent, sibling, friend, boss or any other. See honestly, are you playing your role with sincerity or not? There is no harm in making a realistic self assessment and / or get feedback. Carefully watch complaints or situations which will give you fairly correct idea how you are doing. But be careful to be realistic as people’s expectations will run high. So must know how to have balance in life. This is possible if you can have balance of playing your role nicely on one hand and have the ability to say polite no to undue expectations.</p>
<p><strong>Expectation</strong> : One must have realistic expectations for healthy development of relationship. This is true for both expectations from yourself and from others. It is common to see guilt feeling if you try to overdo. In this case either you will have frustration or guilt. You may also feel used by others. Make fair assessment of own and others expectations and have a balance in life keeping in view your other priorities of life.</p>
<p><strong>Space</strong> : one must create sufficient self space and respect others space. Just like expectations, space must also be balanced. You must have your own space. Learn ways to maintain your space without getting harsh with others. Similarly respect others space and honor that if they resist your intrusion even if in your point of view that was ok.</p>
<p>Independence: Interdependence is necessity of relationship but independence is necessary to keep relationships healthy. Just like financial independence, emotional and intellectual independence is necessary in every relationship. This will allow you to resist possessiveness and other negative traits.</p>
<p><strong>Values</strong> : Values like honesty and sincerity are crucial for healthy relationship. We wish to have honesty and sincerity from others but we fail to do same from our side. Our selfishness and greed does not allow us to be fair. How often we find excuses for our selfishness and justify it to our self or others. But when it comes to other person we get furious and ready to take revenge be it verbal or in deeds.</p>
<p><strong>Communication</strong> : Lack of proper communication is the cause of most relationship problems. All above factors will play role in your relationships and you are required to communicate. But most often we communicate in harsh or sarcastic manner. Our focus is on blames. We must learn how to communicate own point of view and similarly listen patiently other persons point of view. This is art. Learn the art of communication.</p>
<p><strong>Transformation</strong> : No relationship is static. They change with time. But unfortunately we do not understand the necessity of such transformation. Siblings or children share one kind of relationship before their marriage and different after. Some personality traits and temperament are likely to change. This does not mean that there is less affection after their marriage or they have changed. If one understands the transformation process then it would be easily to relate under new circumstances.</p>
<p><strong>Conflict resolution</strong> : Human beings think and act differently. But it is not necessary to allow these different ways to become conflicts. And even if they occur do not allow conflicts to linger on. Discuss and solve at earliest opportunity. One most important thing is to handle each other gently. Attack on the person is not the strategy. One should instead adopt solution oriented strategy.</p>

<p>Why even after years of meditation and other practices, there is no growth?</p>
<p>Why people are not ‘happy’ inspite of spirituality?</p>
<p>There is no spiritual growth. People only gather so called spiritual words but nothing happens. All that happens is spiritual arrogance. You start feeling spiritually grown but where is the ‘growth’.</p>
<p>The answer is simple. No one can ‘teach’ spirituality.</p>
<p>Intellectual growth is through ‘knowledge’.  You can gain spiritual knowledge by reading or listening.</p>
<p>Emotional growth is through ‘feeling’.  You can gain spiritual feeling by meditation.</p>
<p>And…</p>
<p>Spiritual growth is through ‘realization’.  Spirituality is and can only be realized. It comes from within.</p>
<p>Let it happen, naturally and spontaneously.</p>

<p>Bhakt : Prabhu, I was saying&#8230;.</p>
<p>Bhagwan : Hmm I know.</p>
<p>Bhakt : So prabhu who is better. Conservative people say that modern people have forgotten values and are prone to evils and crimes. And modern people say that conservative people are non progressive and their mindset is the root cause of evils and crimes.</p>
<p>Bhagwan : Hmm I know.</p>
<p>Bhakt : Then prabhu who is better and who is the cause of problem.</p>
<p>Bhagwan : You mean to say modern people do not have values and conservative people are not progressive.</p>
<p>Bhakt : No prabhu I do not mean that but I came to know about many such comments and TV channels are having heated debates about this.</p>
<p>Bhagwan : Human society is complex and will always have people of different shades of lifestyles, opinions and mindsets. Humans should learn to accommodate. People can have different lifestyles, wear different types of clothes, have different hairstyles, speak different languages, go to religious places or discos, chant mantras or dance on pop music. This is all individual choice. This does not make a good or bad human being. Nor does it make forward or backward, modern or primitive, progressive or regressive. Humans are humans. One who respect others, has logical thinking &amp; learning ability, has honesty &amp; integrity and live a life that is good for self and society is real human being irrespective of being man or woman, living in big city or village, has so called modern education or no education. These are human qualities and those who do not have these are real culprits of evils and crimes. All this debate of rooted in culture or uprooted from culture is a waste of precious time.</p>
<p>Bhakt : But prabhu&#8230;..</p>
<p>Bhagwan : Modern too have the value system and conservative too are progressing. Together they make the nation. They all have brains and must use them in eliminating evils &amp; crimes from the society. And any comment that goes against humanity must be completely discarded.</p>
<p>Bhakt : Prabhu some men are saying that certain crimes like rape occur because of women&#8217;s faults.</p>
<p>Bhagwan : This crime of blaming women for rape is even bigger than rape. Strange but such thoughts mostly come from those who talk about value system. This is destructive of society. That is why I told you value system has nothing to do with being conservative or modern. If you have value system you will honor women in discos and if you do not have value system you will assault them in religious places.</p>
<p>Bhakt : Got it prabhu. Naaraayan Naaraayan !!!</p>
