Acupuncture & Acupressure Treatment of Chalazion
Acupuncture treatment or TCM may help, as the liver system is connected to eye functions. Certain treatments can strengthen and correct the skewing of the Liver qi. (Qi is the flow of energy in the body. It is sometimes associated with certain organs.)
Conventional / Allopathic Treatment of Chalazion
In Allopathic Treatment of Chalazion Topical antibiotic eye drops or ointment (for example, chloramphenicol or fusidic acid) are prescribed for the initial acute infection. If a chalazion continues to enlarge or fails to settle within a few months, then smaller lesions may be injected with a corticosteroid to help decrease the inflammation
Surgical Treatment of Chalazion
Cases which fail to yield curative results after a period of 6 months (less than 5% of cases) may be recommended surgery. The standard ophthalmic practice towards the treatment of Chalazion is a surgical incision and removal.
Dietary & Herbal Treatment of Chalazion
Some people get recurrent chalazions. Taking steps towards a healthier lifestyle and balanced diet, rich in vitamins and minerals (to improve the immune system) will help.
Other Treatment of Chalazion
Place warm and wet compresses on the affected eyelid for about 15 minutes. Repeat this procedure several times in a day.
Before touching your eyelids wash your hands with soap, so as to avoid any kind of bacterial infection to the eyes.
Avoid rubbing or touching the Chalazion, as this could make the Chalazion lump bigger.
